My latest project. I've been working on this lady since June - got sidetracked a few times - and she's finally complete!
As you know, in Japanese mythology nine-tailed foxes are intelligent spirits gifted with magical powers and capable of assuming human form; sometimes tricksters, sometimes faithful guardian, friends and companions,they're able to produce fire or lightning from their mouths and tails, not to mention to manifest into people's dreams and to create elaborate illusions impossible to tell from reality. I've always loved foxes, and after Vulpix and Kira from Teen Wolf, well
This sculpted fox is resting against a wooden log, next to ivy shoots, sinuous and graceful. The points of her tails and ears are a bright golden, alive with fire. It's a unique piece, entirely made by hand and perfect for a classy gift.
Cold porcelain, acrylic colours, sea-smoothed wood. Not varnished fro a matte / velvety effect.
The base is made of wood, painted and varnished; the sculpture is not glued to it, and can be displayed alone (with a slight pressure, though, the varnishing of the base will hold the sculpture still).
Measurements with base: length cm 25 / in 10, height approx 6 cm, / 2.4 in, depth cm 14 / 5.5 in .
Signed, dated, with authenticity certificate and elegant box.
